Pets Alive Visits Mt. Kisco To Find Furry Valentine Adopters

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Humans are not the only ones seeking love this week. Pets Alive brought dogs, cats and rabbits to Mount Kisco on Saturday for its “My Furry Valentine” adoption event.

The no-kill animal sanctuary of Westchester set up its pop-up adoption site at the former Purple Passage location at 41 S. Moger Ave. Daniele Churchill, of Churchills of Mount Kisco, cosponsored the event.

With adorable adoption candidates on display, Pets Alive Executive Director Jenessa Taylor said public sites help animals meet new faces they might not normally see.

“We like to bring our animals into the public because it increases the chances of finding potential adopters,” she said.

Though there had not been any on-site adoptions through Saturday morning, Taylor said things were going well.

“We’ve had a ton of interest so far,” she said. “I’d rather see people take their time and really think about it, compared to an impulse decision. We are looking for “forever” homes, not pit stops.”
