CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Helen Arnett Sonnemann, formerly of Chappaqua, died Jan. 22 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Morris Plains, N.J. She was 91.
She was born Dec. 7, 1920 to the late George C. and Louise Mueller Arnett and raised in Carlinville, Ill. She married Roger C. Sonnemann, also of Carlinville, and they moved to Chappaqua in 1960.
Sonnemann was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Chappaqua for many years before moving to Morris Plains. She was a 69-year member of Philanthropic Educational Organization, a women's organization.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David Brent and Judithann Sonnemann of Southbury, Conn., her daughter Judith Sonnemann Turner of Bethlehem, Penn., four granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Roger in 1993 and her sister Margaret Arnett Russell in 2003.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on March 3 at the First Congregational Church in Chappaqua. A reception will be held in the church following the service. Interment will be private.
In lieu flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church. Arrangements are by Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home.
