Chappaqua Attorney Named To 'Rising Stars' List

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Chappaqua resident and White Plains lawyer Michelle M. Arbitrio was recently named a a Rising Star – Westchester’s 40 Under 40 by the Business Council of Westchester.

Arbitrio, who is a partner of the national law firm, Wilson Elser, has been practicing law for 12 years. She litigates, tries and appeals complex professional, commercial, coverage, life insurance, ERISA and employment disputes in state and federal courts and defends securities arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Arbitrio represents Fortune 500 companies, and recently obtained a verdict on behalf of one of her clients in a $1.3 million commercial contract dispute in the Superior Court of Danbury, Conn.

When she isn't in the courtroom, Arbitrio serves on the board of directors of the Breadwinners Foundation, a charity headquartered in White Plains that supports families who are struggling financially because the primary breadwinner died unexpectedly without life insurance.

The Westchester native graduated cum laude from both Providence College with a bachelor's degree in 1999, and a law degree from Pace University School of Law, where she was the articles editor for the Pace International Law Review.

Arbitrio lives in Chappaqua with her husband and two children.
