The Ossining High School graduate, class of 1993, will be returning to Ossining on March 25, when he screens his new movie "The Midnight Man" at the Ossining Public Library at 7 p.m.

Before the screening, Pace will be awarding a $500 grant to Ossining graduating senior William Gillman, a student who plans on pursuing a career in the arts.

"The Midnight Man" stars Vinnie Jones, William Forsythe, Brent Spiner, Max Alder, and Pace and is about an assassin who can't feel pain who after an attack, discovers that he now can feel pain.

"It's a fun Hollywood film," Pace said. "It's a good popcorn flick."

Getting to work with actors like Jones and Forsythe was a real thriller for Pace, who said the actors were all about work and were a real motivation to him.

"Vinnie Jones is a guy who is lights out, can knock it out in one take," Pace said. "William Forsythe needs the entire room to be quiet. If one little beep goes off, he has to do it again. It was like watching Mickey Mantle in action."

For Pace, "The Midnight Man," is a culmination of a life of hard work that began at Ossining High School. Pace has done everything from washing dishes to being general manager at a restaurant.

Growing up in Ossining taught Pace about tough love and how to deal with the amount of rejection that comes with being an actor. His Ferris Place neighborhood provided invaluable support.

"It was a special bond," Pace said. "There was no color, we were all together. It was like having 100 fathers and 100 mothers."

He even starred in a high school musical with Class of 1994 graduate Erica Leerhsen, who later appeared in "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2."

Pace said he would tell Ossining students to take advantage of their proximity to universities like New York University and Columbia and use that to help build a reel of work.

"Stay in class and keep studying," Pace said. "You want to show you have experience in front of a camera before you go audition and look for an agent."
