According to Stein, most Americans are consuming large amounts of salt throughout the day and may not even be aware of the problem. Consuming too much salt can lead to hypertension, heart problems and fluid retention in people with certain medical conditions. 

Stein introduces ways to reduce salt in diet and provides information on the amount of salt people should consume each day.
