Chappaqua Couple Part of National Campaign To Share Breast Cancer Stories

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- If you see local couple Jeanette Cueva and David Krakow around town and think they look familiar even though you don't know them, that's because their faces and words have been highlighted on youtube videos and national publications as part of a campaign to tell the stories behind a breast cancer diagnosis.

Chappaqua resident Jeanette Cueva and her husband, David Krakow tell their story of her experience with Stage 1 ductal cell breast cancer.

Their portrayal of what they went through when Cueva received a diagnosis of Stage 1 ductal cell breast cancer two years ago is part of The Estee Lauder Companies’ 2014 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, launched by The New York Times in September.

The Lauder Companies' missive is a global call-to-action to “Hear our stories, Share yours" by honoring the authentic stories of relatable, inspiring families touched by breast cancer.

Cueva received the diagnosed two years ago while in the midst of planning her daughter’s bat mitzah and was frozen with fear; luckily Krakow was able to take over, doing everything his wife couldn’t do herself.

The two were part of a select group that answered a casting call and got the opportunity to be featured. See the full stories here.
