The arts organization, at 31 Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

It is partnering with The Journal News, it said, to present “Through the Decades: Picturing 50 Years in Westchester.”

“2015 is a golden year for ArtsWestchester,” said its CEO, Janet Langsam, in a pres release. “We’re celebrating 50 years as Westchester County’s designated arts council and the county’s connection for the arts. As we ready ourselves for the next half-century, we are pausing to look back and celebrate all the milestones and memorable moments from Westchester’s past five decades with a special exhibition.”

Images can be submitted for consideration through the organization’s website, artswestchester.org, or artsw.org/decades.

The five categories are milestones in: the arts or culture, economic development, the changing landscape, celebrity neighbors and shared tragedies. Images can be submitted in one, or multiple categories, but no more than five images (as jpegs or tiffs) can be submitted in total. The deadline for submissions is July 24. Photographers chosen for the exhibition will be notified no later than Aug. 21.

The exhibition, which will take place at ArtsWestchester’s gallery in White Plains, is from Oct. 5 through Nov. 21. The opening reception is Oct. 4.

For complete submission guidelines, visit artswestchester.org, or artsw.org/decades. For more information, call (914) 428-4220 ext. 330.
