The day-long event will include screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, vascular, breast and prostate cancers, and HIV testing. Lab testing will be available for sickle cell disease and high cholesterol. Experts will be on hand to pass out information and answer questions on various health topics.
More than 500 people from White Plains and neighboring communities are expected to receive free health screenings and information at the fair. Refreshments will be provided and activities, including a lunchtime Zumba workshop, will be available.
The Neighborhood Health Fair involves collaboration from the Hospital and several community groups, including El Centro Hispano Inc., Cavalry Baptist Church, the Thomas H. Slater Center and the White Plains Housing Authority.
