Monday, Aug. 6

Informal Writing Workshop: 7:30 p.m. Bring short prose, poetry, ideas or simply a desire to write to an evening of supportive feedback with fellow writers. This workshop is led by Joan Schulman. It is free and open to the public but registration is required. Stop by the library or call the reference desk at (914) 238-4779 to register. 195 S. Greeley Ave.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

Planning Board special meeting: 6 p.m. The New Castle Planning Board will hold a special meeting to review the applications of the Upper Westchester Muslim Society mosque and the cell tower proposed for the West End of New Castle. Town Hall, 200 S. Greeley Ave.

New Castle Town Board meeting: 8 p.m. Town Hall, 200 S. Greeley Ave.

Wednesday, Aug. 8

Stitch and Chat: 1 p.m. Join other needlework enthusiasts to exchange patterns, ideas and techniques. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

Chappaqua School Board meeting: 8:15 p.m. The school board will hold its second meeting of the summer. Horace Greeley High School, 70 Roaring Brook Road.

Thursday, Aug. 9

Summer Film Series: 7:30 p.m. The Chappaqua Library will continue its series with a showing of "Woodstock." A discussion facilitated by Cathy Paulsen will follow. The event is free and open to the public. 195 S. Greeley Ave.

Night Owls: 7 p.m. The Chappaqua Library will continue its summer tradition of Night Owls story times for children ages 3-5 with an adult. 195 S. Greeley Ave.

New Castle Justice Court: 7:30 p.m. Justice court is in session every Thursday at New Castle Town Hall. 200 S. Greeley Ave.
