Chappaqua Foreign Policy Discussion Group: 10 a.m. The group will discuss the "U.S. Pivot to Southeast Asia: What Are the Military and Diplomatic Implications?" Informal Writing Workshop: 7:30 p.m. Residents are invited to bring short prose, poetry, ideas or simply a desire to write to an evening of supportive feedback with fellow writers. Chappaqua Spelling Bee: 7 p.m. Dozens of costumed teams made up of residents, high school students, middle school students, teachers and faculty will compete against each other. Many of the teams are sponsored with a donation from local businesses. The Spelling Bee benefits the Horace Greeley Scholarship Fund, and more than $15,000 was raised from 2011's spelling bee. 70 Roaring Brook Road.

Open Book Discussion: 7:30 p.m. Christine Bobkoff, an adjunct professor at Westchester Community College, will lead a discussion of "The Orphan Master's Son" by Adam Johnson. The event is free and open to the public. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

Wednesday, Nov. 21
Library closes early: The Chappaqua Library closes at 5 p.m. for Thanksgiving. The library will re-open Friday at 9 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 22
Thanksgiving: All Chappaqua schools and town offices will be closed for the holiday.
