Informal Writing Workshop: 7:30 p.m. Bring short prose, poetry, ideas or simply a desire to write, to an evening of supportive feedback with fellow writers. Tuesday Oct. 16

Author Visit: 7:30 p.m. The Chappaqua Library celebrates Teen Read Week with author and editor Patricia Dunn, who will discuss her book "Rebels by Accident." 195 S. Greeley Ave.

New Castle Town Board Work Session: 7:45 p.m. New Castle Town Hall, 200 S. Greeley Ave.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

From Farm to Table: Making Decisions About the Food We Eat: 7 p.m. The Chappaqua Library series will continue with a discussion on food and the environment. Call the Reference Desk at 914-238-4779 to register. Children’s Program Room, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

Thursday, Oct. 18

Chappaqua Schools Closed: All schools will be closed for a staff development day.

Third Thursday Shop til 7pm: Participating Chappaqua and Millwood stores will be open until 7 p.m. with sales and special offerings for the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Third Thursday shopping event.

Menus in the Movies: 7 p.m. The series will continue with a screening of "Lassie Come Home." Homemade desserts and discussion will follow. The event is free and open to the public. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

New Castle Town Court: 7:30 p.m. Town Court is in session every Thursday at New Castle Town Hall, 200 S. Greeley Ave.
