Monday, Dec. 3

Chappaqua Foreign Policy Discussion Group: 10 a.m. The group will discuss "formulation and implementation" with guest speaker Tom Boyatt, a former ambassador to Upper Volta and Colombia. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

Informal Writing Workshop: 7:30 p.m. Bring short prose, poetry, ideas or simply a desire to write to an evening of supportive feedback with fellow writers. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

Author Talk: 7 p.m. Author Jane Genende talks about her book "Lost Tribe of the Andes." Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

New Castle Planning Board: 7 p.m. The board will hear and review a proposed grocery store and retail center project at Chappaqua Crossing. New Castle Town Hall, 200 S. Greeley Ave.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

Chinese Film and Book Discussion Group: 7 p.m. Interested participants should view the films before the meeting. Films for December are "Soong Sisters" and "King of Masks." Films are available at the library's circulation desk. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

Thursday, Dec. 6

Mah Jongg Club: 7 p.m. The Mah Jongg club is for players at all levels. Instruction, as well and coffee, tea and cookies, are provided. The library provides cards, but those attending are asked to bring boards, if possible. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

Thursday Night Book Discussion Group: 7 p.m. Susan Zangler leads a discussion of "Crossing to Safety" by Wallace Stegner. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.
