Marcus Carter, 35, of Staten Island was taken into custody at the Homestead Village/Extended Stay on Route 3 East in East Rutherford, where he’d been staying, borough Police Chief Larry Minda told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Besides the two handguns, he was carrying 123 bags of cocaine, the chief said. That amount could sell for roughly $7,500 on the street.

Carter was being held on $42,500 bail in the Bergen County Jail on charges that include weapons and drug possession, pending extradition to New York.
