Rye City Council To Honor History, Outline Future Plans

RYE, N.Y. -- Rye will look to both the past and the future at the City Council meeting this week.

The Rye City Council will hold a special tribute to the history of the town's volunteer government, as well as outline the financial plan for the next four years.

The City Council will celebrate Rye's history a a volunteer government and its commitment to public service at its meeting Wednesday night. Former mayors, council members, judges, as well as members of boards and commissioners are encouraged to attend as the council pays tribute to the volunteers who work in the government. The city's Citizens Finance Committee will also present its four-year financial plan for the city, outlining projection costs and revenue trends that should aid in decision-making and future budgets.

The meeting will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rye Historical Society's Square House museum, and then move to City Hall at 8:45 p.m.
