Winters will address the challenges faced in education from an increasingly technology-driven, globalized world.
Winters is now the headmaster at Greenwich High School following positions as Folsom Housemaster at Greenwich High School (2006-07), coordinator of the English as a Second Language program (1999-2006), and coordinator of the world language program (2003-06). His career in education began in 1990 as an ESL teacher at Morris High School in the Bronx, N.Y., after two years in the Peace Corps in the Republic of Mali, West Africa. In 1998, he moved to Roxbury Elementary School in Stamford.
Winters received his doctorate in education at the University of Connecticut, his bachelor’s degree in political science from Middlebury College in Vermont, his master’s in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages program (TESOL) and his master’s in education, both from Teachers College/Columbia University in New York City. He received his six-year degree in administration from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield and superintendent certification from the UConn’s executive leadership program.
RMA meetings are free and open to the public; no reservations are required.
Attendees should plan to arrive around 10:40 a.m. for the social break including coffee and cake, followed by the presentation.
