The second topic will be a discussion about how to keep empty nesters in the community. This roundtable discussion is scheduled for Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Chappaqua Library auditorium.
These discussions provide an opportunity for participants to share their views about important issues facing New Castle.
Some of the questions that will be asked include: Why stay in town and pay taxes after your kids have left the house? Would you want to downsize -- to save money and time on maintenance – and still stay in town? If you downsized, what type of housing would you prefer (condos, townhome, one-story house, active upscale living communities)? Would housing near the train station interest you? How are our services for seniors (transportation, Meals on Wheels, volunteer opportunities)? Any areas to improve?
