The ceremony will honor those who lost their lives, along with first responders, according to the town's announcement.
In a statement sent out announcing the service, New Castle Supervisor Rob Greenstein said, "we will pay tribute to the bravery and the courage of the first responders. We will join millions around the country to remember and give thanks."
The supervisor added, "We will also recognize that 9/11 has become a national day of service. We have so many volunteers in our community – in our fire departments, ambulance service, other organizations and those on our volunteer boards. These members of our community are so generous with their time everyday and I look forward to acknowledging their service."
Gedney Park is located off of Route 133 and is just east of downtown Millwood.
