Stratford Hosts Inaugural Max’s Shamrock 5K To Benefit PAL

STRATFORD, Conn. -- The inaugural Max's Shamrock 5K Run & Walk is set to kick off at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 12 from Maxwell's American Grille at 2415 Main St.

The 3.1-mile event, which will benefit the Stratford Police Activities League, is being organized by MS Running Productions.

Registration for the event is scheduled for 1-6 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Maxwell's. Those who register in advance will receive a specially-designed tech shirt, a goody bag and post-run/walk food, including corned beer sliders, drinks and beer for those of age.

For those who register in advance, the race fee for adults ages 21 and over is $30. Those 20 and under can run for $18.

The 5K course is flat and travels through Stratford's historic district, along the Housatonic Harbor and around the Shakespeare Theatre before finishing downtown.

Awards and prizes are available for top finishers overall and top finishers in each age group. There will be a free, one-tenth of a mile kids run at 8:45 a.m. weather permitting.
