CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – The League of Women Voters of New Castle is co-sponsoring a forum on health care Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Chappaqua Public Library that will include experts in health care reform, health benefits exchanges and information to access to health care.
Charles Bell, external affairs and advocacy program director for Consumers Union, and Leoni Parker, program director of health coverage and care programs for Westchester County Department of Health, will talk about mandated changes to the health care delivery system under the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
The ACA mandates everybody to have health insurance. Starting Jan. 1, 2014, many people will have the opportunity to purchase health care for the first time or find more comprehensive options than were previously available.
Tuesday night's forum will delve into these new health benefits exchanges and how they will help consumers compare benefits and pricing of the different coverage options that will become available.
The forum is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
