Tarrytown Police Charge Drooling Man With DWI

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Tarrytown police charged a man with driving while intoxicated after officers said he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car on North Broadway.

Jorge Chocho-Tigre was later released from police custody. He is scheduled to appear in Tarrytown Village Court on Wednesday.

Chocho-Tigre's white Chevy Tahoe had been stopped on North Broadway with its hazard lights blinking for about 30 minutes when a woman called police around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, according to police reports. The woman told authorities that Chocho-Tigre had been leaning over the wheel with saliva coming out of his mouth when she checked, police said.

Chocho-Tigre consented to a blood alcohol content test, which later resulted in an incomplete determination, Tarrytown police said. Chocho-Tigre was then taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center for a blood test.

A woman came back from vacation on Jan. 4 to find that her Toyota Camry had been scratched with a key on the hood, truck and both sides of the vehicle while it had been parked in her driveway on Baylis Court.

A man injured his left knee after he fell onto the Tarrytown train platform getting off of the train around 8 a.m. on Jan. 3

A Tarrytown resident found on Jan. 2 that the front windshield of his Honda CRV had been smashed overnight while parked on Cottage Place. Police estimated the damage at $275.

R&G Laundromat told police that an unknown male had stolen a metal laundry basket valued at $150 on Jan. 1. Police filed a petit larceny case.

Police took a man into custody on an active warrant after finding him sleeping in his car in the Riverside Fire Department-Tarrytown Police Department parking lot around 9 a.m. on Jan. 1.

A man found himself locked inside CVS Pharmacy on North Broadway around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 31. Police determined after the man was able to get the doors open that he had not been trying to steal merchandise from the store.

Police arrested and charged a woman with several traffic violations, including leaving the scene of an accident after police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of North Washington Street and Wildey Street. The woman's front license plate and bumper were found on Broadway. Police later stopped the woman's car on Route 9 by Hemlock Circle in Sleepy Hollow.
