Police responded shortly past 7 p.m. to the scene of a crash between a 2006 Harley Davidson and a 2013 Land Rover, Fox 61 News reported.

Forrest Ryan, 24, of Monroe, was the driver of the motorcycle, said Fox 61 News. He was driving it northbound on Main Street then crossed over to the side heading south, striking the Land Rover, said Fox 61 News.

Ryan was pronounced dead at the crash site, while two Land Rover occupants were brought to the hospital, Fox 61 News said.

Ryan was a firefighter with the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, according to the department.

He joined in 2009 and was an "active firefighter for several years," said the department.

He is described as "a hard-working member who always shared a smile and a joke, and would gladly do anything to help a fellow member in need," according to the fire department.
