Temple Sholom Plans Community Hanukkah Party

GREENWICH, Conn. – Temple Sholom in Greenwich kicks off Hanukkah on Friday, Dec. 16, with a Latkes and Pajama party that Rabbi Allison Berlinger calls "an important teachable moment for our children and parents."

“There is a great opportunity to teach our youngest children about the joy of giving to others, and creating memories that will inspire good deeds for years to come,” says Berlinger, Temple Sholom's director of education.

The event, celebrating the Jewish Sabbath with songs and stories, will feature guest artist-in-residence Adam Feder.

The Hanukkah party with homemade latkes will follow services Friday at 5:30 p.m. Children are encouraged to attend in pajamas and to bring a new pair of children’s pajamas to start off the temple’s Pajama Drive. The monthlong program supports the Pajama Program, an organization that collects new storybooks and pajamas for children in foster care and group homes.

The celebration is open to the community, and all are welcome. For more information, go to the Temple’s website or call 203-869-7191. Temple Sholom is located at 300 E. Putnam Ave.
