Volunteers Clean Up Stamford School Playground

STAMFORD, Conn. ? Stillmeadow students will return to a clean playground next week thanks to volunteers from RBS who spent their Tuesday sprucing it up.

“Our school has always recognized and valued our corporate partnerships. This act of kindness sends an important message of respect and caring ... and we are very grateful,” Stillmeadow Principal Michael Sanders said in a press release from Stamford Public Schools.

About 60 volunteers showed up with garbage bags, rakes, power blowers and other equipment for a massive clean-up to get the playground in prime condition for the kids, the release said. The Boundless Playground at Stillmeadow is the only one of its kind that allows kids of all abilities to play and learn together.

The community service project was put together by the Stamford Public Education Foundation, which works to connect corporate volunteers with the schools.
