Chappaqua's Gail Patrick's Cafe, Great Food, Value

For 30 years, Patrick Filacchione has been working the food industry. He has worked for the Marriott in Virginia, Clarion Hotels in San Francisco, and in Palm Beach, Florida. Ultimately, Filacchione ended up back in his hometown of Chappaqua, when two and a half years ago he opened GailPatrick's Cafe with his wife Gail, They have been serving hearty and healthy fare ever since and locals and visitors flock for the fine food and friendly atmosphere.

Filacchione, a Horace Greeley High and Culinary Institute of America grad, took the plunge to owning his own place when the perfect location opened up on South Greeley Avenue.

"I always had this idea but this location came up as a fluke. I found out through a friend that this place was opening up and I moved right in," he said.

Opening in late 2008, GailPatrick's entered Chappaqua at the start of a prolonged recession. Despite the challenges, Filacchione still says that his cafe is "hanging in there". His food choices include a slew of healthy choices, a decision many smart restaurants are following in these days of people wanting to stay robust and svelte.

Filacchione said that his business is based on three simple things, "Value, quality and good service. We're working hard on that everyday," he said.

GailPatrick's is open seven days a week. Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 7 p.m, Saturdays, 9:00 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
