Forget store-bought Christmas ornaments. Saugatuck Nursery School children, including 3-year-olds Violet and her pal Fionn, made their own cookie-cutter ornaments Wednesday during the school's afternoon program.
Christmas trees, snowmen, angels, bells, stars and menorahs were among the different-shaped cookies that the youngsters eagerly painted. Some looked good enough to eat.
But as 4-year-old Sam reminded his friends, on more than one occasion, "These are not for eating."
The ornaments will be given to the children's parents as gifts when they are complete.
