Holiday Shopping Season Kicks Off In Westchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – The holiday season has begun, and Westchester County offers a wide array of top stores to shop along with holiday-themed activities and events during December.

Here are some upcoming activities and events:

  • Purchase gifts from Neiman Marcus Westchester’s Love to Give Collection Shop and give back to the community with 10 percent of the sales generated from each benefiting ArtsWestchester, the county’s oldest and most influential organization dedicated to artists and cultural organizations. Purchases at the Love to Give Collection Shop can be made through Dec. 24 at Neiman Marcus Westchester at The Westchester, 2 Maple Ave., White Plains.   • Westchester’s Ridge Hill shopping center is home to the new DreamPlace, The North Pole Adventure, through Wednesday, Dec. 24. The completely reimagined “Mall Santa” experience, developed by DreamWorks Animation, is an attraction that takes families on a virtual journey to the North Pole with the cast of characters from DreamWorks’ “Shrek” movies and culminates in a private, personalized meeting with Santa Claus.   • At the Cross County Shopping Center families can enjoy entertainment throughout the season and take advantage of free parking. Take photos with Santa Claus through Dec. 24 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sundays. In December, Santa’s hours will be extended. The Cross County Shopping Center will also host Pet Photos with Santa on Mondays, Dec. 1, 8 and 15 from 6-8 p.m.

The Cross County Shopping Center is partnering with the Chabad of Yonkers to host a festive menorah lighting on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. The event will include a live musical concert with cultural dancing, treats and activities for children.
