Over the Easter holiday, residents and shelter guests will enjoy a special holiday meal and worship service.

"We want everyone who comes to our door to experience the miracle of Easter -- not only during this annual celebration, but every day of the year," said Executive Director Terry Wilcox. "The experience of God's life-transforming power often begins with a warm meal and welcoming care. Once the weary find rest and the hungry are fed, they can open their hearts to the abundant life God has promised them."

Homeless men and women who choose to join the Mission's residential New Life Discipleship Program receive guidance, counseling and education to help them overcome addiction, develop practical life skills, find stable jobs and build independent lives in their communities.

The Mission also provides life essentials like meals, clothing and coats for families struggling to provide for their families. Throughout the year the Mission will serve more than 450,000 meals to hungry men, women and children in their dining room, through pantry bags, and delivered to impoverished neighbors through their Mobile Kitchens.

Wilcox invites the community to take part in the Mission's Easter celebration.

"This Easter, we ask the community to remember our struggling neighbors who are longing to experience God's love and grace," he said. "Each gift of $2.50 you give provides a meal and the miracle of a new life to those in need."

You can donate online here, and also as a memorial or tribute gift.

The organization serves hungry, homeless and addicted people throughout coastal Fairfield County. "Because each person, family and situation is unique, we meet all whom we serve at his or her point of need and offer solutions to help fight poverty from the inside out," the website notes.
