CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The kick-off organizational meeting for the Habitat for Humanity project in Chappaqua is being held Tuesday night at the Chappaqua Library at 7:30 p.m.
Jim Killoran and other Habitat staff will be there to describe how a Habitat project works, the type of volunteer opportunities that are available and the expected project schedule. The meeting will address the energy-efficiency and environmentally-friendly features, called Passive House, that are expected to be incorporated into this project.
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry that believes every person should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. The ministry builds, renovates and repairs houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations. It advocates to increase access to decent, affordable housing around the world.
The Chappaqua Library is at 195 S Greeley Ave.
