The Fox Lane High School Chamber Choir and the Horace Greeley High School Madrigal Choir will provide holiday music and entertainment. The tree lighting ceremony will be held at the Holiday Inn from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served during the ceremony, which is free of charge and open to the public.
The Tree of Life fundraiser captures the spirit of the holiday season and provides a way to remember family members and friends who have died. Hospice Care will sell ornamental doves to be inscribed with the name of a loved one. The doves will be displayed on evergreen trees at the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown Heights for the holiday season. The fundraiser is slated to run from Wednesday, Nov. 28, through Dec. 24.
Proceeds will benefit the not-for-profit hospice care organization, which offers comprehensive programs for patients with advanced or life-threatening illnesses in Westchester and Putnam counties.
Benefit sponsors include Dow Chemical, Highland Pork, Peach & McPherson, Putnam Hospital Center and Elder Care Connection. In addition to its hospice care services, the program, with headquarters at 540 White Plains Road in Tarrytown, also offers bereavement support groups at no cost to children and adults in the community.
