HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Hackensack detectives who flooded a neighborhood Wednesday night looking for a suspect arrested another man on drug charges.Detectives and uniformed patrols were increased in the area of Main and Linden streets the past week following a Dec. 3 incident in which a woman said a man followed her after she'd just gotten off a bus and pulled her into a darkened area, Police Director Michael Mordaga told Daily Voice.

Hackensack detectives had the area under surveillance Wednesday night when another woman notified police that a man had just tried to accost her, he said.

Detective Sgt. Michael Antista and Detectives Robert Ghirardi and Pedro Dominguez "converged and chased him down for several blocks before catching him on Linden Street," Mordaga said.

Keith Harrison, 25, was charged with criminal restraint and resisting arrest, as well as with drug possession for a small amount of crack cocaine that Mordaga said he was carrying.

Police also recovered a replica handgun, he said.

A joint investigation with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office was expected to produce additional charges against Harrison, who previously lived in Paterson and Englewood, had recently moved to a second-floor apartment on Passaic Street.

Harrison was being held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

He'd been free on bail after Englewood police in April said he tried to elude detectives on his bicycle while carrying an ounce of pot, six dozen Xanax, a baker’s dozen of MDMA capsules, an illegal handgun and $1,670 in cash.
