Bayer will be accepting the Edward Haberman award, an honor named after a former local coach who was known best as a student and athlete mentor in Chappaqua. The award, which is entering its fourth year of existence, is annually given to an influential figure within the school’s community.
Bayer began working in Greeley in 1999 and left in 2012 to take the principal gig in nearby Somers High School. His reputation among peers in Chappaqua is nothing short of pristine, as he left a huge footprint on both the community and the scholarship fund at Greeley.
Thursday night, he will revisit his old stomping grounds.
The HGSF annual fundraiser will provide Bayer and old friends to catch up amidst doing what Bayer did best: helping students make the dream of attending college a reality.
Last year the fund raised $176,000 in grants for 29 students. This year, fund can still benefit from your support.
If you are interested in going to the Horace Greeley Scholarship Fund for a delicious buffet, wine bar, and a great cause, you can still purchase tickets online here.
