Cortlandt Community Coalition Shows Anti-Drug Abuse Film

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The Cortlandt Community Coalition and the Hendrick Hudson school district are teaming up to present a screening of "Whispering Spirits," the Justin Veatch story, followed by a panel discussion on substance abuse with Jeffrey Veatch, Justin's father.

The screening and panel will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at the Hendrick Hudson High School auditorium, 2166 Albany Post Road, Montrose. Admission is free, and all are welcome.

"Whispering Spirits" tells the story of Justin Veatch, an exceptionally talented musician/singer/songwriter who died from an accidental drug overdose in 2008 as he was beginning his senior year at Yorktown High School. The film follows Justin's family, including his father, Jeffrey, as they grapple with their devastating loss and come to reconnect with him and reach thousands of others through the music he left behind.
