New York State Legislators Qualify Pregnancy For ACA Coverage

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. – The state legislature has passed a resolution allowing women who become pregnant to sign up for Affordable Care Act coverage before they give birth, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

ACA coverage currently allows women who give birth to sign up for coverage, but not when they become pregnant.

The resolution, passed last week, awaits Gov. Andrew Cuomo's signature, and similar legislation is currently being considered in the California state legislature, the WSJ report says.
