Little League Postseason Gets Under Way

The Little League postseason is scheduled to begin Wednesday night with six games scheduled in Tournament of Champions competition for teams in District 1.

Stamford, which has six Little League programs, has its separate Tournament of Champions competition. Defending champion Federal will play Northrop at 5:45 p.m. at Frank Noto Field in Stamford as it seeks its second straight Stamford TOC title. Stamford American meets North Stamford in the other game at 5:45 p.m. at Chestnut Hill Park. Wednesday's winners advance to Thursday's semifinals. The championship game in Stamford is scheduled for Sunday.

In the All-Towns Tournament of Champions, Norwalk meets Redding at 5:45 p.m. at Veterans Park. Rowayton plays Darien National at Bayley Beach, also at 5:45. Wilton hosts Ridgefield American at 5:45 p.m. at Bill Terry Field, and Weston plays Ridgefield National in Ridgefield at 5:45. Ridgefield National defeated Darien American, 15-5, in the first game of the competition Monday.

Winners of Wednesday's games advance to Thursday's semifinals. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday.

In the first softball Tournament of Champions, Darien defeated Greenwich, 14-9, on Tuesday.

The District 1 Little League Tournament begins next week. North Stamford is the defending champion.
