Chappaqua Writer To Sign Latest 'Jimmy Vega' Mystery In Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Award-winning mystery writer Suzanne Chazin will sign copies of her new novel, “A Blossom of Bright Light,” Sunday at The Village Bookstore in Pleasantville.

‘Blossom’ is a story of deadly deeds and heartbreaking choices in the fictional upscale Westchester community of Lake Holly.

The Chappaqua author will be at the book store at 10 Washington Ave. from 2-4 p.m.

Chazin is the author of two mystery series. Her first (“The Fourth Angel,” “Flashover,” “Fireplay”) stars Georgia Skeehan, a firefighter turned investigator for the New York City Fire Department. Her second series (“Land of Careful Shadows”), stars homicide detective Jimmy Vega.

The third book in the Vega series, “No Witness But The Moon,” is due out in 2016.

Vega is thrust into the case when a body is found near a gathering place for immigrants, who, because of fears of deportation, close ranks, according to the author. He enlists the help of his girlfriend, Adele Figueroa, a local activist. But Adele has a secret that threatens to tear them apart.
