CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – On Thursday, Nov. 5, the New Castle Historical Society and Chappaqua Public Library present Hugh Howard, author of "Houses of Civil War America."

The most recent book includes Lincoln’s home in Springfield, Illinois, Robert E. Lee’s mansion, Arlington, now the centerpiece of the national cemetery. In addition, it also covers homes such as Stonewall Jackson’s in Lexington, Virginia, and Frederick Douglass’s in Washington, D.C, and one chapter provides a detailed view of Horace Greeley’s house in Chappaqua.

Copies of Houses of Civil War America will be available for purchase and the author will sign books.
