CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Author Angela Duckworth is scheduled to speak and holding a book signing at the Chappaqua Library on Tuesday, May 3.
Duckworth is the author of "Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance," which will be available the same day. "Grit" is Duckworth's first book, her website notes.
Duckworth, according to her biography , is a professor of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also scientific director of the Character Lab, which is described as "a nonprofit whose mission is to advance the science and practice of character development."
Duckworth was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2013; that same year, she delivered a TED talk, which can be found here.
Duckworth's biography adds that she has served as a consultant to NBA and NFL teams, the World Bank and Fortune 500 teams, among others.
