Ars Antiqua, Period Instrument Orchestra, Performs In Chappaqua

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – The Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Chappaqua will present a special performance by period instrumental ensemble Ars Antiqua.

God's Ballroom, Music at the Bavaran Rococo Wiekirch, is presented by artistic director Mark Kramer. The concert will be at 8 p.m. April 18 at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, 191 S. Greeley Ave., Chappaqua. Tickets cost $35 and will be available at the door the evening of the concert. The concert will include "Salve Regina in F Major," Nicola Porpora; "Alla tromba della fama," Baldassare Galuppi; "Laudamus Te," Antonio Vivaldi; "Sancta mater & Inflammatus et accensus," Giovanni Pergolesi; and "Cantata 51: Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen." Special guests include Clara Rottsolk, soprano; Heather Johnson, mezzo soprano; David Kjar, baroque trumpet; Jorg-Michael Schwarz & Karen Marie Marmer, baroque violin; and the Ars Antiqua Period Instrument Orchestra.
