Upgraded A&P In Mount Kisco To Reopen Friday

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — Mount Kisco's A&P Fresh Market grocery store has been upgraded to match the specific needs of Mount Kisco residents, according to store representatives.

The 195 North Bedford Road store will celebrate its "grand reopening" from Oct. 5 through 7 with family festivities, including free samples, face painting and animal balloons.

The store now features upgraded bakery and deli departments, expanded kosher offerings, pastas and cookies imported from Italy, and Mediterranean, German, British and Irish food sections.

"Customers are responding favorably to the new items and sections," A&P spokeswoman Marcy Connor said.

The idea behind the renovations was to adapt the store so its selection of products and offerings were tailored specifically to what residents of Mount Kisco and surrounding areas want, store reps said.

For example, the bakery now offers cupcakes from Two Forks bakery and a line of “Cake Boss” cakes. There is also an expanded selection of gluten-free products, a new natural and organic section and a wider variety of craft and seasonal beers.

"A&P realigned its merchandising assortment to match the needs of the Mount Kisco neighborhood after extensive marketing and demographic research was completed," Connor said.

Several sections of the store were renovated over several months, Connor said. New fixtures and other decor enhancements were also installed to give the store a brighter appearance.
