Karen Gordon, Gabrielle Zilkha, and Heidi Israel admit they've all been the friend their girlfriends like to go shopping with to help them stylize - or find -- an outfit. And so, they decided to take that talent and form an online company that helps women do just that.

StyleCerfer, which officially formed in November, is based on the desire to help time-pressed women look for clothing and accessories. The service also helps those that need feedback on their style.

"Many of our friends hate shopping and/or have trouble pulling together a great outfit," said Israel. "That's where StyleCerfer comes in. No matter what your style preference or tendency we have it covered. As a bonus, we always try to achieve 'the look for less.'"

The process begins with a questionnaire to get a sense of a client's style and budget. The three women then work with the customer by either phone or email to engage how to customize their service.

For Northern Westchester residents, StyleCerfer offers a full closet clean out to help organize and optimize the client's existing wardrobe.

"Since we do most of our shopping online, we always surf the Internet for the best prices and search for coupon codes and sale alerts," said Gordon. "We then create a lookbook of pictures in a photo file on the customers phone to refer back to so she remembers how to put the outfits together."

A portion of proceeds goes to benefit Glycogen Storage Disease, a rare metabolic disorder that affects Gordon's son. Go to www.curegsd.org/ for more information.
